KUCHING: Felcra Pelita Jemoreng Sdn Bhd reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) by handing over a business zakat'' (tithe) contribution amounting to RM814.971.23 to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) recently. The ceremony took place at the TBS headquarters, and was led by Felcra Pelita Jemoreng Sdn Bhd chairman Datu Zaidi Mahdi. ‘The zakat was received by TBS general manager Datu Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie and witnessed by Baitulmal and Wakaf Board chairman Datu Abang Helmi Abang Ikhwan. "Felcra Pelita Jemoreng Sdn Bhd is a joint venture between Felcra Berhad and LCDA Holdings Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Land Custody and Development Authority ( LCDA). "The company plays a significant role in the oil palm plantation sector within the Mukah Division, with a total planted area of 2,710.7 hectares in the Matu Daro region," said LCDA in a statement yesterday.
