The newly-appointed Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Commission and Islamic Affairs) however said it was still too early to comment further on his new role. “It will be most likely to coordinate and oversee the progress of infrastructure projects planned and executed across all nine regional development agencies. “As for the other two agencies which I have been tasked to work with before, I will continue to collaborate closely with the Kuching North Datuk Bandar, DBKU director and management to drive and improve the development of Kuching North into a dynamic and liveable city,” he told The Borneo Post. Meanwhile, he added he would continue to maintain a strong and cooperative relationship with the Sarawak Islamic Council and other Islamic agencies to ensure the successfully implementation of programmes and initiatives benefitting the Muslim community in the state. Dr Abdul Rahman was appointed to his new role, which is effective today, and sworn in before Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at Astana Negeri here this morning. He is one of two assemblymen sworn in today following a minor Cabinet reshuffle, with the other being Satok assemblyman Dato Ibrahim Baku who is now Deputy Minister of Utility (Sarawak Energy Berhad and Petros).. |
