KUALA PILAH: A total of 368 out of 460 residents in the Chergun and Guntur Orang Asli villages have undergone leprosy screening as of February 19. Negeri Sembilan State Government Senior Exco, Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, said the screening was carried out by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) through the Negeri Sembilan State Health Department (JKN). According to him, of that total, nine cases have been confirmed since this effort began in July 2024. “All patients have received treatment according to medical guidelines set by the Ministry of Health. “The state government is also saddened by the passing of an 18-year-old patient from Kampung Orang Asli Chergun who died on February 17, 2025,” he said.
